Across the country there are thousands of recording programmes that will help you to identify and then record the species that you might find in your gardens. These programmes cover fungi to frogspawn, lichens to larch, robins to rabbits and everything in-between. Once you have identified the creatures in your garden, you can then submit these records and help researchers and conservationist to better understand the distribution of common and rare garden species. This can also help to recognise which species may be declining and which habitats might need more protection to prevent this.
